Director statement
What We Call Love is a simple story about love, or about an idea of love — perspectives of different generations. It's a dialogue-driven film, and I leave it to the viewer to answer the question, that my characters raise: Is there are a place for a romantic love in our digital world that is seemingly completely overtaken by likes and disposable content?
I believe, that nowadays, more than ever, we lack simple and easy movies, without politics or excessive drama. I wanted to create exactly this — a lighthearted and smart film, the film about people and their relationships. The film, that will be understood by any viewer, because its main theme is the one universal truth that spans across continents and unites us like nothing else — love.
